The Negative Effects Of Watching Pornography

    By / September 24, 2015

It’s something you either discover as a teen or in early adulthood, and pornography can certainly change people’s lives. It gives someone the chance to indulge in their fantasies, all of their kinks and fetishes they perhaps didn’t know about before or wouldn’t dare to try in real life. Porn makes sex looks perfect – the actors have amazing assets and look beautiful, and they have had so much practice they are brilliant at having sex. But there are dangers. Porn can warp the mind and give people – especially those who don’t get much action – the wrong impression.

The truth is that real sex is generally an intimate experience, and not as hardcore as it looks on screen. In addition, the extreme fetishes you may see in porn are very rarely tried out for real and are only supposed to be fantasy. However, for those who watch a lot of porn, the brain believes that such activities are normal, and that every adult craves full-on sex like they do. It makes people aggressive and can potentially get them into trouble if they cannot control their urges around others. When having sex, some are encouraged to treat their partners like objects after what they’ve seen in adult videos. This could make the other person uncomfortable and could even be classed as rape. There are other ways porn can get people into trouble. For example, a lot of porn involves sexual acts in public. If you tried that out yourself you would likely get arrested for indecent exposure.

Relationships can also be affected by porn too. In real life, people are not perfect. However, this is never shown in porn – the selling point is to give the viewer flawless sexual entertainment. The brain becomes tuned to this and over time, if the habit is not controlled, it can lead to what has become known as porn-induced erectile dysfunction. This means that while a man can easily get hard to porn, they struggle to maintain erections while having actual sex and have to think about porn scenes instead of their partners to try and stay hard. For some who have an out of control porn addiction, the only way they can actually ejaculate is by watching porn. This significantly damages relationships as the porn watcher cannot enjoy their partner how they would like to, while their partner may get the impression that their other half is no longer excited by them.
